PRIX DU NOUVEL-ONTARIO :
THE AWARD HAS BEEN PRESENTED TO ARTISTS SINCE 1983
GREATER SUDBURY – March 28, 2022— The Caisse Desjardins Ontario becomes the official sponsor of the Prix du Nouvel-Ontario.
For more than one hundred years, Desjardins has actively participated in the development of the francophone community in Ontario. As such, it was natural for Desjardins to come on board and present the Prix du Nouvel-Ontario.

Our common values unite us in sharing the importance of promoting the vitality of the francophone community in Greater Sudbury,’’ says Josée Préseault, Desjardins’ Regional Director for Greater Sudbury and Northern Ontario. ‘’It is through the arts that we develop a culture of a population and Desjardins is proud to contribute to the vitality of all regions’’.
In 1983, La Nuit sur l’étang created an award of excellence, Le Prix du Nouvel-Ontario. This award recognizes an artist’s body of work and contribution to francophone arts and culture in Ontario. It is presented to an artist or a person that has significantly contributed in the artistic, in the community and in the cultural spheres. Le Prix du Nouvel-Ontario honours a Franco-ontarian for his or her career achievements in one or all these spheres.
The award will be presented at La Nuit sur l’étang 2022 which will be held this coming Saturday, April 2 at 7:30 pm in the Trisac Auditorium at College Boréal located at 21 Lasalle Boulevard in Greater Sudbury.
