GREATER SUDBURY (Ontario) April 27, 2022 – Les Concerts La Nuit sur l’étang Inc. is proud to announce the return of la Brunante (At Dusk) pro workshops for young performers to be held May 13-15, 2022, in Greater Sudbury.
‘’COVID wreaked havoc with arts and entertainment and our organization was not spared,’’ says Managing Director, Pierre-Paul Mongeon. ‘’It was a key goal for us to relaunch La Brunante, an initiative that stretches back to November 1982 nearly forty years ago.’’
Since then, more than 400 performers and groups have benefitted from professional training offered by mentors in music and entertainment. Though the formula of the event and training has varied through the years depending on the needs and the times, the focus since its inception has always been to coach, mentor and nourish the artistic development of young performers aged 15 to 30 in francophone Ontario.
Three Franco-Ontarian groups are registered for this year’s master classes. Solo artist Kaiday from Ottawa, the groups Les Désorganizés from Orléans and Philippe Mathieu from Sudbury.
Les Concerts la Nuit sur l’étang is a diversified not for profit company that operates year-round. It presented the 49th edition of La Nuit sur l’étang on April 2, 2022, at College Boreal. This May, the organization is presenting a photographic exhibit Ces beaux visages (These Beautiful Faces) from local photographer Cédéric Michaud, la Brunante workshops and a new concept Cercle Intime (Intimate Circle – a concert in the round) on June 25, 2022. In addition, the producers are in post-production packaging this year’s Nuit sur l’étang to be broadcast later this spring on various Internet platforms.
